At Tuesday's weekly press conference, NIU head coach Dave Doeren and a few Huskie players met the media at the weekly press conference. Doeren looked back at the Wisconsin game, but quickly turned his attention to the task at hand - Cal Poly. Fred Mitchell of the Chicago Tribune and Lindsey Willhite of the Daily Herald talked about NIU moving on from the loss.

Willhite pointed out in his story the Huskies 1-2 record is the same mark they had after three games last year. He also talks about the growing pains the NIU defense, which returns just two starters, is going through right now.

Mitchell talked about NIU's seniors taking control of the team as soon as they arrived back on campus in his piece. He also includes a video interview with Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Jeff Compher regarding the $3 million gift the department received to build its indoor practice facility.

In his press conference wrap up, Ryan Wood of the Daily Chronicle talked about the uniqueness of facing a triple-option offense this often in this day and age of college football and how facing Army in the season opener may give the Huskies a bit of an edge.
