Football: Northern Illinois won their second consecutive Mid-American Conference title Friday with a 44-37 double overtime win over then No. 17 Kent State at Detroit's Ford Field. Jordan Lynch combined for 372 yards of total offense, while the Huskie defense held KSU's vaunted rushing attack in check before Demetrius Stone's fourth down interception in the endzone sealed the win. The victory solidified a spot for the Huskies in the 2013 Discover Orange Bowl against ACC champion Florida State.

Men's Basketball: NIU lost two non-conference games during the week. On Tuesday, the Huskies lost 58-46 to in-state rival UIC despite Sam Mader's 15 points. On Saturday, Northern dropped a 60-43 decision to the Dayton Flyers with Travon Baker leading NIU with 17 points.

Women's Basketball: The Huskies split two non-conference contests to close out November. NIU lost a tight one on the road Wednesday night with a 67-58 defeat at the hands of the Bradley Braves in Peoria, Ill. They would rebound Friday night, though, with a 67-63 victory over the Loyola Ramblers for the team's first home win in 2012-13.

Wrestling: The Huskies posted 14 placewinners and one champion Saturday at the Kaufman-Brand Open. Rob Jillard led the way for the team with a first place finish at 149 pounds. Meanwhile, Andrew Morse took second at 157 pounds and Jared Torrence took third at heavyweight.
