WANT TO BE A HUSKIE CHEERLEADER?
To tryout for the NIU cheerleading squad you must provide proof of a physical exam that has taken place within the three months prior to the tryouts. You must bring the proof with you to the tryouts. Current NIU cheerleaders do not have to get another physical for the tryouts. Acceptable proof of a physical is the documentation your doctor uses during the examination. Your doctor and your parent must have signed in the appropriate spaces on the form(s) as well.

There is a $20 tryout fee to cover the cost of facility rental, judges, and producing the tryouts. Checks are made payable to NIU Cheerleading. Cash is accepted as well.

1. Execute a standing back tuck upon command without a
spot or anyone standing near you.

- Tumbling of choice (the more difficult, the higher the score if executed well)
- A fight song
