Northern Illinois Women's Golf Boss Pam Tyska Named Recipient of NGCA Palmer Service Award (1/9)
DeKALB, IL ---Recognition from your peers on a national basis for Northern Illinois University head women’s golf coach Pam Tyska might be the frosting on the proverbial career cake. Tyska---in her 20th year as Huskie links boss---will be the recipient of the National Golf Coaches Association’s most prestigious individual honor, the Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award, this Tuesday (January 10) at the NGCA Hall of Fame Induction Banquet held in conjunction with the group’s national convention in Lake Tahoe, NV. DeKalb, IL – Although the 2005 Fall campaign begins Saturday (Sept. 10) for the Northern Illinois University women’s golf team, junior standout Lisa Bailey (Decatur / Warrensburg-Latham) has already burst into midseason form. During pre-meet qualifying for the 54-hole Iowa Hawkeye Intercollegiate (Sept. 10-11), Bailey shot a remarkable 32 (4-under-par) on the back-nine of DeKalb’s River Heights Golf Course to pace what should be a deep, veteran roster for head coach Pam Tyska in her 20th season.
