The athletic facilities at Northern Illinois University help Huskie student-athletes achieve their goals in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
Since 2007, NIU Athletics has completed or renovated eight major athletics facilities. This includes the addition of the $16-million Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon Center, and the $3.5-million Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
The Yordon Center
The Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon Center benefits every student-athletes and all 17 programs on campus, and includes an athletic training center and a 12,500 square foot weight room.
A sea of Cardinal and Black. The deafening roar of 25,000 screaming fans. Tailgating that brings out the masses. All that and more create a first-class game day environment at Huskie Stadium.
The Convocation Center has been the center of entertainment and athletics in DeKalb for nearly a decade. NIU President John Peters called the building "a jewel rising out of the prairie."
