Rich Harvest Farms

Located in nearby Sugar Grove, IL, Rich Harvest Farms has evolved into one of the nation's elite private courses. Home to the 2003 Mid-American Conference Championships and the annual site of the Chrysler All-Star Shoot-Out, Rich Harvest Farms (RHF) owner Jerry Rich, a Northern Illinois alumnus, has etched this beautful 18-hole course into an 1,800-acre estate which includes an active farm with horses, soybean and corn crops.

Classified as "tough but fair" by a number of active PGA professionals, RHF offers a varied terrain, with some holes modeled after a links-style venue and others carved into the heavy woods surrounding the course. Green sizes range from 1,700 to 12,000 square feet, making pin-point iron play a must for scoring purposes. Named the nation's fifth best "New Private Course" in 1999 by Golf Digest, RHF was named No. 2 nationally for its outstanding course conditions. Comprised of a distinguished membership base of less than 50 business leaders and celebrities, RHF routinely opens its doors for charity events such as Hook A Kid on Golf in Illinois, which was founded by Don Springer and Rich.

Whisper Creek
Big time, prime time support. Northern Illinois University's golf team has the backing of two of Illinois' premiere golf courses and is fortunate to call both Whisper Creek and Rich Harvest Farms home. Opened in July 2000, Whisper Creek joined the Huskie golf family in summer 2001 and has served as the home to several Huskie outings, including the last four Huskie Women's Golf Classics. Designed by Greg Nash and PGA Hall of Famer Billy Casper, Whisper Creek received a Five-Star rating from Chicagoland Golf Magazine and is spread throughout 240 acres and is accented by rich bluegrass rough and 5,000 strategically placed pine and hardwood trees.

A true championship-style venue, Whisper Creek has hosted several state championships, including the Prairie State Amateur Championship, the Illinois PGA Pro-Senior Championship and an Illinois Open Qualifier. The Par 72 course stretches to 7,103 yards from its Championship Tees.
