Week's Achievements: Jefferson recorded seven tackles, including four solo stops, and a pass breakup in NIU's season opener last week against Iowa. Playing in his 40th career game, the senior from Chicago helped the Huskie defensive unit hold Iowa to just 268 yards. Jefferson and the Huskies allowed just 139 rushing yards to the Hawkeyes who averaged just 2.8 yards per carry. As a group, the Huskie defense recorded six sacks and eight total tackles for loss.
Week's Achievements: Angelos had an outstanding week that was capped by an All-Tournament selection at Pacific's Community Bankers Classic. On the week, she averaged 2.46 kills and 2.92 points per set, while hitting .309. Her two best matches came in wins over Green Bay and Nevada. Against Green Bay, she had 10 kills, one error, and hit .429 in a 3-1 win. She was even better against Nevada, racking up 10 kills and one error again, but hit .500 in a sweep. At the Classic, she averaged 2.44 kills per set, hit .267, and totaled five blocks and 25 points.
