Sycamore native Justine Schepler, like many freshman student-athletes, didn't have much time to get adjusted at her own pace, to the college game. One of the freshmen on head volleyball coach Ray Gooden's undefeated team, Schepler understands her role on this team, and has a great mentor to learn from as the Huskies make an attempt at chasing the MAC championship. Rick Armstrong of the Aurora Beacon News starts things off by introducing the Huskies to the road, a place NIU finds itself in four-of the first five games of the season.

The Huskie volleyball team enjoyed another dominant performance Tuesday night, defeating visiting Bradley in three sets. In doing so, the Huskies improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1998. NIU will take on Kennesaw State, Memphis and Illinois-Chicago at this weekend's UIC Invitational in the Windy City.

The Daily Chronicle had its 2010 NIU Football Preview insert in today's paper. It's loaded with several stories on this year's team highlighted by an outstanding feature on defensive end Jake Coffman. The Northern Illinois volleyball team capped off a stellar run in the NIU Invitational last weekend by defeating 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifier College of Charleston in four sets. The Huskies are an unblemished 4-0 on the year, and will host Bradley Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Victor E. Court.
