Francine St. Clair enters her third year as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Academic Support Services at Northern Illinois, and is in her fifth year on the DeKalb campus.

St. Clair boasts more than 25 years of administrative and supervisory experience in business and intercollegiate athletics. Some of her key accomplishments include constructing, implementing and directing academic support programming for an NCAA Division I institution, developing and teaching an academic and NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills course and establishing a recruiting compliance monitoring system.

In her current role as Director of NIU's Student-Athlete Academic Support Services unit, St. Clair supervises the delivery, development and identification of academic support resources for the Huskies' 400-plus student-athletes. Her duties include assessment and prescription of specific services that meet the special academic needs of NIU student-athletes to ensure that they have all the necessary tools to earn a degree from Northern Illinois University.

St. Clair, a native Chicagoan, has also made other stops in the field of athletic administration at the University of Minnesota (Assistant Director of Academic Counseling; September 2002-04), Ohio State University (Athletic Academic Counselor; August 2000-02), the University of Iowa (Assistant Director of Student Academic Services; August 1993-June 1995) and Wright State University (Assistant to the Athletics Director for Student Services/Compliance; August 1990-August 1993).

She began her career in intercollegiate athletics as a basketball coach at two schools in the state of Illinois, serving as the head women's basketball coach at both her alma mater, Chicago State (1985-87) and at Illinois-Chicago (1987-90). St. Clair was also the Primary Women's Athletic Administrator at CSU during her time as the women's basketball mentor.

St. Clair earned her bachelor's degree in K-12 physical education from Chicago State, and a master's degree in athletic administration from UIC.
