Athletic Training
Members of Northern Illinois University's football team benefit daily from the expertise of NIU's staff of professional athletic trainers as well as the technologically-advanced facilities. With features such as on-site X-ray equipment, fully-equipped doctor's office, two rehabilitation pools, and a drug testing area, NIU's certified athletic trainers and team doctors have all the tools they need to prevent, treat and rehabilitate injuries in the Yordon Center's state-of-the-art health center. Jeff Sisson, who serves as the primary trainer for Huskie football, is responsible for the sports medicine operations for the program and is assisted by Northern Illinois' large staff of full-time, graduate assistant and student assistant athletic trainers.
