Mission Statement
The mission of the Student Athlete - Advisory Committee (SAAC) of Northern Illinois University is to inspire and enhance the student-athlete experience through promoting opportunities within the university, athletic department, and outside community while providing a facet to serve and protect the interests and image of the student athlete.
Vision
To motivate participation from all student athletes and NIU students in community service events that enhance Northern Illinois University and the community of DeKalb.
SAAC promotes itself as a community service based organization open to all NIU students. It also serves as a liaison between student athletes and the rest of campus. It encourages student athletes to serve as ambassadors to enhance NIU's regional and national reputation. Our membership is open to any NIU student who is interested and willing to engage in community service activities.

Team Representatives
Two student-athletes from each athletic team represent their team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Along with providing regular SAAC updates to their teams, the team representatives will also be responsible for tracking and submitting points for the Victors Cup using the Monthly Point Tracking Form.
Meetings
Meetings are held on Monday nights in the Yordon Center. SAAC representatives from each athletic team are expected to be in attendance (provided the SAAC meeting does not conflict with practice). New student-athletes are also encouraged to attend SAAC meetings along with their team representatives for the purpose of developing future SAAC members.
