Mission Statement
The mission of the Student Athlete - Advisory Committee (SAAC) of Northern Illinois University is to inspire and enhance the student-athlete experience through promoting opportunities within the university, athletic department, and outside community while providing a facet to serve and protect the interests and image of the student athlete.
Vision
To motivate participation from all student athletes and NIU students in community service events that enhance Northern Illinois University and the community of DeKalb.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a leadership group made up of student-athletes that facilitates discussions of issues specific to the student-athlete experience. This committee serves as a liaison between athletes, coaches, administration, and the NCAA. Traditionally, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee also offers input on rules, regulations and interpretations that directly affect the lives of student-athletes. Meetings are held on Monday nights in the Yordon Center. Each sport has two representatives on SAAC.
