Huskie Life Skills offers a five-year series to help student-athletes navigate the challenges they will face. Every semester student-athletes will attend a Life Skills Speaker, a Huskie Workshop, and a Team Workshop. The purpose of each session is to enhance the awareness of student-athletes regarding major issues commonly faced by intercollegiate athletes and to address the personal and professional needs of student-athletes.
*Student-athletes are required to attend three sessions each semester.
Life Skills Speaker Series
The Life Skills Speaker Series is intended to address major issues commonly faced by all student-athletes. The fall guest speaker and topic is based on a five-year rotation to ensure that speakers are not repeated and that student-athletes are made aware of the challenges and strategies for success related to major issues (social media, hazing, gambling, sexual assault, leadership/impacting the community). In addition to the fall speaker rotation, student-athletes are required to attend a spring speaker dedicated to the topic of Alcohol & Drugs.

SECOND-YEAR WORKSHOPS: Healthy Eating & Meal Planning (Fall) & Mentors in Violence Prevention (Spring)
THIRD-YEAR WORKSHOPS: Team work Leadership Institute (Fall) & Résumé Building & Professionalism (Spring)
FOURTH-YEAR WORKSHOPS: Career Fair & Grad Prep Seminar (Fall) & Life After Sports (Spring)
