DeKALB, Ill. - Sorry ladies, this one's for the guys.

In four years, Northern Illinois Annual Football 101 Ladies Clinic has become a huge hit with the Huskie fan base. In fact, the "exclusive" nature of the ladies clinic inspired a bit of jealousy from their husbands, sons and men throughout the community who asked, where was their night, their chance to hobnob with the Huskie players and get insider information from NIU coaches?

Well, here it is. On Friday, April 12, Northern Illinois will host the first "X's and O's with the Pros Men's Football Clinic" from 5-9 p.m. in the Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon Center. Along with NIU Head Football Coach Rod Carey and the Huskie football coaching staff, the event will feature a line-up of Huskie greats, all of whom bring experience as current or former National Football League players.

Three members of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts - Super Bowl winning offensive tackle and 10-year NFL player Ryan Diem, and current Colts Nathan Palmer and Chandler Harnish - along with former Chicago Bears running back Garrett Wolfe and current Atlanta Falcons linebacker Pat Schiller will be on hand for this unique evening. The pros will visit with participants during the social portion of the program, then participate in a Q&A session during the "break out" sessions which also will have attendees moving through different position meeting rooms of the Yordon Center where NIU coaches will break down film, providing a true "insiders' look" into college football.

Cost for the Xs and Os with the Pros Clinic is $125 and includes a social hour with beverages and snacks, the break-out sessions, a tour of the Yordon Center and a free Huskieland season ticket plan for 2013. The Huskieland plan provides a ticket to all five Northern Illinois home games next season AND $50 in "Doggie Dollars" which can be used for parking or concessions at Huskie Stadium.

In order to give every participant the best experience and one-on-one interaction, space for this inaugural event is limited. Register now by calling the Huskie Athletic Support Fund at 815-753-1923 or e-mail huskieathleticsupportfund@niu.edu for more information.

Don't worry ladies, the NIU Football 101 Ladies Clinic will be back for the fifth consecutive year on Wednesday, July 24 from 5-8 p.m. at the Yordon Center. NIUHuskies.com as well as the NIU Huskies Facebook page will have complete information closer to that date.

Season tickets for the 2013 Huskie Stadium home slate are just $100 while NIU Alumni Association members, senior citizens (62+), youth (3-13), NIU Varsity Club (former letterwinners) members and faculty and staff can see every game for just $88. Season tickets are available by calling NIU Athletics at 815-753-1923, or go online to www.NIUHuskies.com/tickets for complete information and order forms.

After posting a 12-2 record and earning its second straight Mid-American Conference title a year ago en route to a historic appearance in the Discover Orange Bowl, Northern Illinois returns 14 starters (8 offense, 5 defense, 1 specialist) in 2013. The Huskies will be led by dual-threat quarterback Jordan Lynch, a 2012 second-team All-American who accounted for nearly 5,000 yards of total offense while setting NCAA records for rushing by a quarterback with 12 100-yard rushing games. Leading tackler Jimmie Ward and the Huskies' entire offensive line are among the 55 returning letterwinners for 2013.

NIU opens 2013 spring practices March 20 with the spring game (free admission) slated for April 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Huskie Stadium.
