But it's not every season you have a young man that brings all three to the diamond every game at Ralph McKinzie Field. The Huskies have one in 2015. His name is Gavin.

2014 SEASON (SOPHOMORE):
• Made 16 appearances on the mound as a sophomore
• Totaled 15.2 innings with an 0-2 record
• Tossed a season-high 2.1 innings at Western Michigan (April 25)
• Amassed 2.0-or-innings on three occasions
• Recorded two shutout innings at Eastern Michigan, fanning two batters (April 13)
• Struckout one in 1.1 scoreless innings at New Mexico (Feb. 21)
• Made season debut versus Minnesota at Camelback Ranch, hurling 2.0 innings in 1-0 loss to the Golden Gophers (Feb. 16)
• Helped NIU pitching staff to MAC best 2.93 earned run average in conference play

DEE-MACK HIGH SCHOOL:

• Three time letter winner and All-Heart of Illinois Conference at Dee-Mack
• Three-time McDonalds All-Star game and a Pantagraph All-Star in senior year
• All-area selection in both Peoria and Bloomington in senior season
• The Chiefs all-time leader in strikeouts during his career and in a season
• Led team to consecutive conference championships, as well as regional and sectional championships
• Dee-Mack was 22-2 in his final two seasons
• Posted 7-2 record on the mound, 1.2 ERA, four saves and 131 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched during senior season
• Hurled 74 innings in junior year with a 9-2 record, 122 strikeouts and 1.61 ERA
• Solid batter for the Cheifs as well, hitting .453 in his career 135-for-298)
• Batted .500 in 2012, with three home runs, 13 doubles, five triples, 34 runs and 32 RBI
• Hit a career-high 14 doubles in sophomore season
• Played his high school summer ball with the Central Illinois Outlaws
