CLEVELAND, Ohio - Following his fourth-consecutive complete game in which he struck out 12 and walked zero, junior Eli Anderson was named Mid-American Conference West Division co-Pitcher of the Week.

The award is Anderson's third in the last four weeks. Last Saturday versus Western Michigan, Anderson continued his streak of complete games with four-consecutive, becoming the first NIU player to pitch at least four since Joe Piekarz’s five in 2004.

Anderson scattered five hits, allowed zero earned runs, zero walks and struck out a career-high 12 batters against the Broncos. Of his 121 pitches thrown, 87 went for strikes for a .719 strike average.

The Huskie boasts a 5-3 record and a 2.31 ERA this season, highlighted by a 0.75 earned run average and 4-0 clip in MAC games. He also has 32 strikeouts and six walks in conference as well. Anderson ranks sixth nationally in complete games (4), 20th in games started (9), 156th in ERA (2.31) and 147th in strikeouts (48).

Ball State's Scott Baker also collected the honor after a 10 strikeout complete game victory over Central Michigan, 6-1, to earn his eighth win of the season.

Northern Illinois will play a pair of midweek games as they host Bradley Tuesday and Illinois-Chicago Wednesday. Both contests begin at 3:05 p.m.
