Former Huskie Bobby Stevens Promoted to Baltimore's AA Team

DeKALB, Ill. - Former Northern Illinois shortstop Bobby Stevens (2006-08) was promoted from the Baltimore Orioles' Advanced A team (Frederick Keys) to the organization's AA team (Bowie Baysox) on Thursday. The Orioles' 16th round pick in 2008 was hitting .241 with six homers and 21 RBI in 64 games for the Keys before earning the promotion. In the midst his fourth professional season as primarily a second baseman, the Chicago native has posted a .250 batting average, 31 doubles, 18 homers, 97 RBI and 40 stolen bases in 290 career minor league games. Prior to being elevated, Stevens had spent the 2009 and 2010 campaigns in Frederick, Md. In his initial pro season, the 6-0, 190-pound Guerin Prep product played for the Bluefield Orioles in Bluefield, W. Va.
