Northern Illinois Baseball Adds Kyle Stroup To Fall Signees

Complete 2007 NIU Baseball Fall Signee Profiles DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois Baseball signed Kyle Stroup (Ingleside, Ill./Fox Lake Grant) to a National Letter of Intent to complete its class of fall signees. Stroup, ranked as high as Illinois' fifth-best player, joins an already impressive group of six players who signed during the early period. Stroup, who is entering his senior season at Grant High School in the spring, is a two-time all-area and all-conference selection. During his junior season the 6-foot-6, 235-pound righthander was honorable mention all-state after posting a 5-2 record and 2.04 ERA. Stroup completed four starts and earned one save and struck out 71 in 61.1 innings while yielding just 21 hits and 15 walks during his junior campaign. At the plate, Stroup hit .425, slugged .779 and totaled 13 doubles, five home runs and 28 RBI on 40 hits. As a sophomore, Stroup won six games and posted a 2.89 ERA. During his freshman season, Stroup notched five victories with a 1.62 ERA.
