Jason Larson enters his third season as a member of the NIU basketball staff in 2013-14, his first as an Assistant Coach after working as Director of Basketball Operations for the past two seasons.
In his role as director of operations, Larson was responsible for arraigning travel, film exchange, scheduling, budgeting, overseeing managers and academic progress.
Larson spent four seasons as a member of the men's basketball staff at the University of Utah. He began as the Utes video coordinator in 2007-08 before serving as the Director of Player Development for the past three seasons. In that role, Larson worked closely with the director of basketball operations to handle the day-to-day operations of the basketball program and assists in the academic and personal development of the student-athletes.
Prior to Utah, Larson spent two seasons as the Coordinator of Basketball Operations at Western Michigan. Larson's duties with the Broncos included film exchange, team travel, supervising the team managers, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program and coordinating the Western Michigan summer basketball camps.
Larson began his career at Grand Valley State where he spent four seasons as a student assistant before working as an assistant coach during the 2004-05 season. Larson has also worked coaching camps at Western Michigan, Grand Valley State, Central Michigan, University of Michigan, and Oakland University.
Larson graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2004, with a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and a minor in Spanish. He also received his M.B.A. from Western Michigan in 2009.
Larson is a graduate of Manistee (Mich.) High School, he and his wife, Juliana, were married in the summer of 2012.
