Grabbed a board in one minute of action at Eastern Illinois ... Gave the Huskies a great lift off the pine in a 73-67 win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12/29/04) ... 2003-04 (Redshirt): Underwent a pair of knee surgeries, the first in mid- October, and the second on Feb. 18, to help repair a right-knee injury sustained during off-season workouts prior to the start of the 2003-04 season ... Never healed properly after the first surgery and played in six games before undergoing the second arthroscopic surgery on Feb. 18 ... Averaged 1.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in those six outings ... His six games played fell under the NCAA's "20 Percent Rule", which allowed him to earn a medical redshirt ... Played a season high 10 minutes against St. Francis (Dec. 30), scoring two points and grabbing a career high four rebounds ... Played eight minutes against Cornell College (Feb. 15), scoring a career high four points on 2-of-3 shooting ... Also netted three boards ... Played one MAC contest against Ohio (Jan. 3).
2002-03 (Freshman): Captured initial collegiate varsity monogram by playing in 24 contests ... Ended the season fifth on the squad with eight blocked shots. Set a career-high with three rejections in just four minutes of play against Illinois-Chicago (12-28-02) while scoring his first collegiate points. Got in for a season-best 12 minutes at Toledo (1-8-03), highlighting his playing time with a slam dunk ... Nailed first NIU free throws with a pair of tosses from the charity stripe against Ball State (2-1-03) ... Played double-digit minutes in back-to-back contests versus Toledo (3-1-03) and at Central Michigan (3-5-03).
2001-02 (Redshirt): Redshirted his initial year at Northern Illinois, while working on improving his skills.
Prep: Came into his own his final two seasons for coach John Boyd as a two-year letterwinner at Gary West Side ... The Cougars posted a 16-4 mark his final season with a 3-1 record in the Northwest Conference ... Season culminated in a 57-53 loss to East Chicago Central High School in the regional championships of the Indiana Class AAAA state tournament ... A key component to coach Boyd's balance attack that used a deep rotation, he averaged 4.5 points per game while grabbing 4.2 rebounds per game with one rejection a night ... Put on an impressive display at the East Chicago Turkey Tournament, earning all-tournament accolades from the coaches.
