DEKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois men's basketball team (6-13, 2-5 MAC) will travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to face Southeast Missouri State (3-20, 0-12 OVC) in the ESPNU BracketBuster game at the Show Me Center on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7:45 p.m. The Redhawks are a member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Huskies will be playing in their fourth road game during the history of the BracketBuster series. NIU and SEMO will be meeting for the first time in the all-time series, but the Huskies own a 49-45 all-time record against foes affiliated with the OVC.

The Redhawks are winless in conference play, and have lost 12-consecutive games overall. SEMO's three wins this season have come against Western Illinois (Dec. 26), Longwood (Nov. 28) and Culver-Stockton (Nov. 21). NIU also defeated Western Illinois (Nov. 28) this season, in the second round of the 100 Club Classic in Kennesaw, Ga.

The Huskies have dropped three-straight Mid-American Conference games, and five-of their last six contests overall. NIU will make the Ohio (Feb. 5) and Buffalo (Feb. 7) road swing this week, and will play three more MAC games before taking on the Redhawks.

Dating back to the 2004-05 season, the Huskies are 0-3 in BracketBuster contests. Last season's scheduled home game against fellow OVC member Tennessee State was canceled in the wake of the shooting on the NIU campus on Feb. 14, 2008. The Huskies played at Tennessee State (Nov. 21, 2008) earlier this season.
