DeKALB, Ill. - In addition to hosting the University of North Dakota in the first Northern Illinois football home contest, Huskie Athletics will be hosting prospective student-athletes and their parents for Huskie Athletic Recruiting Day on Saturday, September 11, 2010.
The event will begin with a check-in at 3:15 p.m. in the Jeffrey and Kimberly Yordon Center, and will include a welcome from NIU administrators, an overview of academic and athletic scholarships and services, information regarding NCAA eligibility, as well as a question and answer with Huskie student-athletes. The day will then end with the opportunity to watch the Huskie football home-opener, which starts at 6 p.m.
Open to any prospective student-athlete that is interested in one of NIU's 16 intercollegiate athletic teams, those wishing to attend must contact a coach from the corresponding sport's staff by Friday, September 10. Click here for a complete list of recruiting contacts. Tickets to the football game for parents and prospects will be provided at Gate 16 of Huskie Stadium. Parking will not be provided for parents and prospects who are participating in an unofficial visit. Parking may be purchased for the Convocation Center parking lot C2 for $10. Parking for official visits will be limited to one pass per parent and prospect.
