2008: Earned second team All-MAC honors from Phil Steele's Magazine and third team accolades from the conference. Three-year starter at center with 37 career starts who was named the Huskies' offensive lineman of the week three times. Played his best football of the year in October and November, according to offensive line coach Matt Limegrover. Earned a season-high 89 percent grade with three bonus blocks versus Bowling Green (10-25) and followed that with an 88 percent mark at Ball State (11-5), garnering team offensive lineman of the week honors for both performances. Earned a 70-plus percent grade in the WMU (9-6) game with a 90-plus percent efficiency rating. The offensive line led the way to 224 rushing yards and three TDs against Kent State (11-18). Named team's o-lineman of the week after the Minnesota game (8-30). Offensive line notched its three best performances in the Toledo (10-18), Bowling Green and Ball State games with season-high collective grades of 81, 86 and 81, respectively. Quarterback of the Huskie offensive line who calls all the line signals. NIU averaged 171.2 rushing yards per game to rank 36th in the country and third in the league. Huskies did not give up a sack in seven games, and put up 339 yards of total offense against Louisiana Tech (12-28) in the Independence Bowl.

2007: Starting center for the second straight season. Played and started all 12 games, calling signals for the Huskies' offensive line. Graded out at 81.4 percent on the season to rank first on the team. Competed at 85 percent at Navy (11-17). Recorded an 85 percent grade vs. SIU (9-8) Graded at over 80 percent eight times on the season. Helped lead the way for NIU's ninth straight 1,000-yard rusher and was responsible for pass protection on 378 passing attempts.

2006: Scripps Freshman All-America honoree by the Football Writers Association of America. Honorable mention Freshman All-American by The Sporting News. Started 12 games at center, including the Poinsettia Bowl. Anchored line that produced MAC's second-ranked rushing and total offense and third-best scoring attack. Totaled 43 knockdown blocks and ranked second on team with 10 flatbacks. Graded at 86 percent or better in all games and had four or more knockdown blocks in six contests. Recorded 91 percent grade and had six knockdown blocks in collegiate debut at Ohio State (9-2). Graded at 94 percent and racked up six knockdowns and three flatbacks against Buffalo (9-16). Totaled eight knockdowns and four flatbacks at Ball State (9-30). Recorded season-high 95 percent grade and five knockdowns at Eastern Michigan (11-24). Missed the Iowa (10-28) game to injury.

2005: Redshirted.

High School: Consensus all-state selection, listed among "Five to Watch" in 2005 class by the Daily Herald and called "one of the best in the area" by the Chicago Sun-Times. Named team captain and Most Valuable Offensive Lineman, first team All-East Suburban Catholic Conference, Special Mention Chicago Sun-Times All-Area, first team Daily Herald Lake County All-Area, special mention Champaign News-Gazette All-State, special mention Chicago Tribune All-State, and first-team Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State on Class 6A state playoff qualifier as a senior. Tabbed on preseason Chicago Sun-Times Top 100 Area Player and Chicago Tribune league Player to Watch lists entering his senior year. Recorded 27 tackles and one fumble recovery as a defensive tackle and played offensive guard and long snapper in his final season. Starting center helped lead 4,000-yard rushing attack on 14-0 Class 6A state champion as a junior. Two-time football letterwinner.

Personal: Born Oct. 4, 1986. Engineering technology major and Huskie Scholar holds a 3.01 GPA. Outdoor enthusiast who enjoys fishing, boating and hunting.
