SIGHTS & SOUNDS: NIU Football Releases New Uniforms

It seemed like just another team meeting in the McCareins Room at the Yordon Center Saturday, August 16. Take a look at behind the scenes footage of the Huskies unveiling of their new uniforms on August 16, pranking the team before revealing them.

• Played his best football late in the season with five tackles for loss and three sacks in the Huskies’ last four MAC games, including the MAC Championship.
• Made 16 of his 22 tackles in those contests.
• Saw action in every game except the season opener versus UNLV.
• Had a season-high six tackles vs. Western Michigan with two sacks.
• Also recorded two TFLs and a sack at Buffalo.
• Selected as NIU Defensive Player of the Week vs. Ball State and WMU.
• Made an impact on special teams, blocking a PAT at Buffalo and a field goal in the Ohio game.


• Appeared in all 14 games as a member of the defensive line rotation.
• Had 26 total tackles with 14 solo stops.
• Finished the season strong, tallying 22 of his tackles in the final seven games.
• Totaled 6.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks, all coming in the final nine games.
• Registered a career-high 1.5 sacks in the MAC Championship Game victory over Bowling Green (12-5).
• Also had sacks in key conference games at Western Michigan (11-28) and Eastern Michigan (10-25).
• Caught first career interception at Ball State (11-5).

• Earned first team All-Northeast Football Conference honors as a sophomore at Monroe College (N.Y.).
• Finished with 59 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks in two seasons at Monroe.
• Led the team in sacks with 8.5 to rank 11th in the NJCAA in 2013.
• Also led the team in tackles for loss with 14.
• Totaled 42 tackles, forced one fumble, recovered a fumble and defended two passes in 2013.
• Ended his freshman season with 17 tackles, 13 solo, and three tackles for loss.
