2010: Redshirted in his first season at NIU.

High School: Named to the All-Western Sun first team as a tight end in each of his last two prep seasons. First team all-area selection by the Daily Chronicle as a senior and earned second team all-area recognition following his junior season. Caught 17 passes for 250 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games as a senior. Two of his touchdown catches came in the playoffs. Made 10 receptions for 146 yards and one score in nine games in 2008. Defensively, picked off two passes in his career, including one his senior year. Invited to play in the Illinois Shrine All-Star Game. Served as the Spartans' team captain while seeing action at linebacker, tight end and quarterback as a senior. Helped lead the Spartans to 5A state quarterfinals and an 8-4 record in 2009. Member of the honor roll all four years of high school.
