2010: Started all 14 games at free safety as a sophomore and led NIU and co-led the MAC with four fumble recoveries. His 73 tackles were fourth-highest on the team and he added one interception, two pass break-ups and one-half tackle for loss. Named to the 2010 All-MAC third team as a return specialist. Top return man on the NIU squad with 18 punt returns for 142 yards, a 7.9-yard average, and 23 kickoff returns for 553 yards to average 24.0 yards per return. His kick return totals rank fourth on the NIU single season lists. Collected a career- and game-high 10 tackles, including nine solo and a half tackle for loss, at Illinois (9-18). Made nine stops, six solo, at Western Michigan (10-30) with two punt returns for 34 yards, including a 32-yard return. Collected seven tackles against Minnesota (9-25). Credited with six stops and a fumble recovery against Central Michigan (10-23). Accounted for six tackles in his first career start at free safety in the season opener at Iowa State (9-2) and returned three kickoffs for 57 yards with a 30-yarder. Recorded five tackles in back-to-back weeks against Akron (10-2) and Temple (10-9). Registered three tackles and a fumble recovery against both Buffalo (10-6) and North Dakota (9-11), while making a game-clinching interception as time expired against the Fighting Sioux. At Ball State (11-20), had a career-long 52-yard punt return and finished with 117 all-purpose yards. Made four tackles and recovered his team-leading fourth fumble of the season versus Fresno State in the 2010 Humanitarian Bowl (12-18) while adding three kickoff returns for 80 yards. Returned four kickoffs for 86 yards in the MAC Championship (12-18) game versus Miami (Ohio) and made five solo stops.
2009: Saw action in all 13 games, totaling eight tackles, with at least one stop in six games. Earned third team All-MAC honors as a punt returner. Returned three kickoffs for 72 yards and made a career-high three tackles on defense at Central Michigan (11-27). Returned two punts for 33 yards, including a long of 19 yards, against Ohio (11-21). Returned the opening kickoff versus Eastern Michigan (11-5) 86 yards for a touchdown to record the first TD of his career and the 10th longest kickoff return in school history. Earned a career-high 127 kickoff return yards on three returns against the Eagles. Concluded his season at the International Bowl where he returned five kickoffs for 126 yards against South Florida (1-3). Collected 122 yards on five kickoff returns with a long of 39 yards against Idaho (9-26). Ranked sixth in the MAC and 38th in the nation in punt returns, averaging 8.0 yards a return. Ranked third in the MAC in kickoff returns, averaging 24.1 yards a kickoff return. His 700 kickoff return yards ranks ninth all-time on NIU's career leader list and fourth on NIU's single season list. Named NIU special teams player of the week after returning three punts for 46 yards, including a career-long 42-yarder versus Miami (10-24), and blocking on Perez Ashford's punt return for a touchdown. Recorded one tackle in games against Western Illinois (9-12), Purdue (9-19), Miami (10-24), Ball State (11-12), and South Florida at the International Bowl (1-3). Compiled a season high three tackles against Central Michigan, including two solo stops. Garnered Academic All-MAC football team honors.
High School: Earned first team all-conference recognition at both defensive back and wide receiver as a senior. Named the city's most valuable player and earned second team all-metro honors at wide receiver. Collected 27 receptions for 470 yards, made 52 tackles and returned three kicks for touchdowns in his final season. Grabbed 40 catches for 390 yards as a junior. Participated in track.
