2010: Appeared in all 14 games as the second team weakside linebacker. Recorded 38 stops, 21 solo, recovered a fumble and blocked a pair of punts. Ranked 10th on the team in tackles with at least one stop in 12 of 14 games on the season. Opened the season with four tackles in the season opener at Iowa State (9-2). Tallied four tackles, three solo, at Minnesota (9-25). Credited with three solo stops at Akron (10-2). Tallied a season-best five tackles, with a season-high four solo, against Buffalo (10-16). Recorded three stops versus Central Michigan (10-23) and added two solo stops at Western Michigan (10-30). Tallied three tackles, two solo, against Toledo (11-9). Named MAC West and NIU Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking two punts and recovering a fumble at Ball State (11-20). His first block came at the Ball State 25 and was picked up by Jimmie Ward and returned 15 yards for a Huskie touchdown. On the second, he recovered his own block at the Ball State 40. Tied his season best with five stops against the Cardinals. Credited with five tackles, two solo, at Eastern Michigan (11-26) and made two tackles in the Humanitarian Bowl game versus Fresno State (12-18).
2009: Appeared in all 13 games, compiling 29 tackles, including 22 solo stops. Tallied 5.5 tackles for loss with a pair of pass break-ups. Made a career-high seven tackles against Western Michigan (10-3), including five unassisted. Tallied five tackles against Ohio (11-21) and four versus Idaho (9-26). His blocked punt in the Idaho game went out of bounds at the one-yard line and set up a fourth quarter NIU score. Recorded sacks in the Miami (10-24), Eastern Michigan (11-5), Ball State (11-12) and South Florida (1-3) games for a combined loss of 34 yards. His sack in the International Bowl ended a USF drive. Forced a fumble against Western Illinois (9-12). Made at least one tackle in every game at linebacker or on special teams.
Junior College: Earned JUCO All-American honorable mention status after being named first team all-conference and all-region in one season at Joliet Junior College. Totaled 58 tackles with 45 solo to go with two tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one sack. Served as team captain on the defensive side.
High School: All-State second team choice played in the Dade vs. Broward County All-Star Game. Served as team captain as a senior, garnering first team all-conference and all-region accolades. Totaled 75 tackles with five sacks, four forced fumbles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries that year. Helped the Lions to an 11-2 record and the state championship as a senior. Earned second team all-conference honors as a junior, leading his team to a 10-2 record and the state title game. Tallied 42 tackles with two pass break-ups and one fumble recovery his junior season. Lions went 45-7 in his four seasons with four district championships.
Personal: Born May 30, 1988 in Miami, Fla.. Son of the late Regina Brown Washington and Lucious Delegal. General studies major. Father Lucious Delegal was a former safety at the University of Miami. Admires Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Peyton Manning, and Ray Lewis.
