2013: True freshman played in five games. Carried the ball 13 times for 96 yards on the year (7.4 ypc). Caught three passes for 32 yards. Rushed four times for 19 yards against Ball State (11-13). Recorded a career-high six carries at UMass (11-2) for 21 yards. Ran for a career-high 51 yards on two carries against Eastern Michigan (10-26). Made his collegiate debut at Central Michigan, where he ran once for five yards (10-19).
High School: Four-year starter at running back. Named all-state honorable mention as a senior, in addition to earning all-area and all-conference honors. Given the team's leadership award following the 2012 campaign when he also served as team captain. Ran 148 times for 928 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2012. Caught six passes for 105 yards out of the backfield. Added 49 tackles, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two interceptions on defense in 2012. Rushed for 740 yards and five touchdowns on 113 carries in 2011.
Personal: Born July 22, 1994, in Chicago, Ill. Son of Tally Smith and Tamara Howard. Plans to major in accounting. Product of the high school that produced Heisman finalist Jordan Lynch.
