NIU arrives in Miami

The Huskies arrive in Miami

2012:Recorded five receptions for 192 yards through seven games... Each of four catches have gone for 32 yards or more... Caught a season-long 45-yard reception against Buffalo (10-13) to set up NIU's fourth touchdown of the day... Ran 32 yards on a fake punt against the Bulls to kickstart the NIU offense... Hauled in a 43-yard reception versus Central Michigan (9-29)... Posted a 38-yard reception at Army (9-15) on NIU's first play from scrimmage, helping set up the Huskies' first touchdown of the day... Caught a 34-yard pass at Ball State (10-6), setting up Northern's second touchdown of the day... Snagged his first reception of the season against UT-Martin (9-8) on a 32-yarder... Returned a squib kick 17 yards against the Skyhawks.

2011: Played in all 14 games and made four starts at tight end. Finished the year with six receptions for 49 yards and one touchdown. Caught a six-yard pass against Ball State (11-15). Hauled in one pass for 13 yards at Bowling Green (11-8) and earned the Offensive Lineman of the Week Award with his blocking from the tight end spot. Caught one pass for five yards at Toledo (11-1). Made one catch for seven yards against Kent State (10-8). Made his first career start against Army (9-3) and scored his first career touchdown on a 13-yard reception.

2010: Took a redshirt season as a true freshman. Twice named one of NIU's work team players of the week. Earned the honor for the Iowa State (9-2) and Temple (10-9) weeks.

High School: Tight end, defensive end and linebacker at St. Marys High School who was a 14-time letterwinner in high school in five sports. Earned letters in football (four), basketball (four), track and field (four), baseball (one) and wrestling (one). All-state choice in football as a senior and junior. Also a third-team all-state selection in basketball as a junior. Earned all-conference honors in football in each of his last three years and in basketball his junior season. Captained St. Marys football, basketball and track and field teams as a senior. At tight end, caught 14 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns as a senior for a 22.3-yard average. Also carried the ball six times for a 14.3-yard average. Had nine career carries for 145 yards and two scores. On defense, made 47 tackles with five pass break-ups, an interception and five quarterback sacks as a senior. His junior season, totaled 68 stops, forced two fumbles, broke up four passes, blocked a kick and tallied two sacks. Had a career high six sacks his sophomore year with 67 tackles. Career totals include 212 tackles. St. Marys finished 2009 as the sub-state runner-up with an 11-2 record, advanced to the sectional championship with a 9-3 record his junior year and went 9-4 as the sub-state runners-up his junior season. In four years, his St. Marys teams went 38-14 as he played in 47 games. Played on St. Marys team that won the state basketball title in 2009. Four-year member of the honor roll.
