2010: Played in all 14 games as one of NIU's top two fullbacks and saw action on special teams. Used predominantly as a blocker throughout the season. Scored his first career touchdown on a two-yard reception against Minnesota (9-25), one of two catches of the season for the senior. Posted a career-long 38-yard catch and run versus Central Michigan (10-23). Totaled two catches for 40 yards on the year. Named NIU's Special Teams Player of the Week and earned the team's Big Hit of the Week against Iowa State (9-2).

2009: Saw action in 10 games as he alternated with Kyle Skarb at fullback for NIU. Excellent blocker at that position who also caught a 10-yard pass at Ohio (11-21). Named one of the Huskies' offensive blockers of the week for the Ohio game.

2008: Played 11 games, starting the last four of the season at fullback. Made nine grabs out of the backfield for 72 yards. Four of his nine catches resulted in first downs. Led the team with a career-best four catches for 24 yards against Ball State (11-5). Set a career-high with 35 yards on two receptions, including a 22-yarder, at Kent State (11-18). Made one catch each against Toledo (10-18), Navy (11-25) and in the Independence Bowl against Louisiana Tech (12-28).

2007: Redshirted.

High School: Senior year accolades include being named a member of the 7A Illinois Football Coaches Association All-State first team, Chicago Tribune second team, and earning Chicago Sun-Times All-State honorable mention honors. Named East Suburban Catholic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. Placed on the Chicago Sun-Times Top Five ESCC Players and Area Top 100 Players lists. Played in the Illinois High School All Star Game. Earned all-conference and all-area honors after both his junior and senior seasons. Holds the Niles Notre Dame record for tackles for loss in a season.

Personal: Born Aug. 11, 1987 in Chicago. Son of Mary Faith and Thomas Flahive. Brother Daniel played soccer for Eastern Illinois and brother Devin played soccer at Western Illinois. Uncle Timothy Gleason played football at Eastern Illinois. Majoring in kinesiology. Huskie Scholar holds a 3.0 GPA.
