Junior College: Red-shirted the 2008 season. Finished the 2009 season ranked No. 1 in California Junior College football in kick scoring after making 50-of-52 PATs and 17-of-20 field goals. Twice hit a season-long 46-yard three-pointer. Also made 12-of-14 field goals and all 47 of his PATs his sophomore season at Bakersfield J.C. with a career-long 48-yard field goal. Helped lead his team to a 9-1 record and a Northern National Conference Championship as a freshman. Was a unanimous First Team All-Conference pick at kicker following the 2009 campaign. Honored as a member of the 2009 All-California Junior College First Team. Made the Dean's List all three years at Bakersfield.

High School: Named All-League twice and All-Area once as a member of the Bakersfield Christian High School football team. Earned a place on the 2008 Arena Bowl High School All-Star Team. Finished his senior season ranked #6 in the state of California in kick scoring. Kicked 27 PATs and 3 field goals as a junior. As a senior made 59 PATs and 7 field goals to help lead team to an 11-2 record.
