High School: Two-year starter as a running back and linebacker at Montini Catholic. Team captain as a senior. A first-team all-conference, all-area and all-state selection his final season. Helped Montini to a 10-4 record as a senior and was a member of the Illinois Class 5A State Championship squad. Rushed 150 times for 1,195 yards and nine touchdowns. Recorded the third-longest touchdown run in school history with a 94-yard effort. Also caught 11 passes for 113 yards. On the defensive side of the ball, totaled 113 tackles (68 solo), 11 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks and two interceptions. Also had three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and two blocked kicks. Personal: Son of Tom and Ellen Gorrell. Born Nov. 1, 1991. Plans to major in business.
