Previous School: Played in 24 games with four starts over two seasons at Tulane. Earned three starts at left tackle as a sophomore with starts against Southeastern Louisiana (9-3), Tulsa (9-10) and Memphis (10-22). Started the Southern Miss (10-6) game at right tackle as a true freshman. Played primarily on the FG/PAT unit for the Green Wave.

High School: Two-year letterman at Evanston Township. Ranked as the No. 141 offensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com and was the No. 186 offensive tackle according to ESPN. Earned first-team All-Central Suburban-South Conference and all-area honors, along with academic all-state recognition, as a senior. Also lettered four years in basketball and was voted team captain as a senior. Member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll.
