NIU rallied for a 30-27 victory over Iowa Saturday.
2013: Saw action in all 14 games at defensive end and recorded 31 tackles. Led NIU and ranked fifth in the MAC in sacks with 6.5. Ended the season with a sack in three-straight games. Fourth on the team in tackles for loss with seven.
2012: Tallied 19 tackles in 13 games for the Huskies. Recorded a season-high four tackles, including three solo stops, at Akron (10-20). Added a forced fumble to his three-tackle performance at Ball State (10-6).
2011: One of only four true freshmen, and the only defensive rookie, to letter in 2011. Earned the team Freshman Defensive Player of the Year honor. Played in all 14 games on special teams and as a reserve defensive end. Tallied 26 tackles, three for a loss, and recovered two fumbles. Posted a season-high six tackles against Cal Poly (9-24).
High School: Twice selected St. Louis Post-Dispatch Defensive Player of the Year. Also named Player of the Year for the Suburban South Conference and was a MaxPreps All-American his final two seasons. Earned all-state honors as a junior and a senior. Had a team-high 177 stops with 13 for loss, 10 sacks and five interceptions as a senior. Made 145 tackles with 99 solo as a junior, in addition to four interceptions. Served as a team captain his final two seasons. Starter at linebacker as a freshman. Kung fu champion.
