2007: Reserve tight end limited to two games by elbow injuries. Underwent surgery on the elbow. On the field for 41 snaps of the Eastern Michigan game (9-15). Made one catch for 15 yards at Idaho (9-22). Played 25 snaps of that game. 2006: Saw action in 11 games with one start. Caught 11 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Six receptions and both touchdowns came over final two regular season contests. Did not play in first two games. Totaled three catches for 28 yards at Miami (10-8). Made first collegiate start at Western Michigan (10-14). Caught two passes for 19 yards against Temple (10-21). Scored touchdown on 20-yard pass in two-catch, 35-yard outing vs. Central Michigan (11-17). Had career-best four receptions for 29 yards, including four-yard TD, at Eastern Michigan (11-24). Saw time at tight end vs. TCU in Poinsettia Bowl (12-19).
2005: Played in six games as reserve tight end and on special teams. Totaled three receptions for 42 yards, including a long of 28 yards. Had first career reception, an eight-yarder, vs. Tennessee Tech (9-17). Hauled in two passes for 34 yards, including 28-yarder, at Kent State (10-22). High School: Cited as team Outstanding Offensive Lineman and made two catches for 39 yards in injury-shortened senior year. Named first team All-Northern Lake Conference, first team South Bend Tribune All-Dream Team and first team all-area, honorable mention Bloomington Herald Times All-State, and first team Indiana Football Coaches Association Class 5A All-State as junior. Caught 20 passes for 290 yards as tight end on 11-1 conference champion and playoff qualifier during junior campaign. Selected Most Improved Offensive Player, first team Elkhart Truth All-Area, and honorable mention Bloomington Herald Times All-State after catching 24 passes for 390 yards as sophomore. Three-time football letterwinner and earned two letters in basketball and track. State and sectional champion shot putter in final prep season. Placed sixth in shot at state as a junior.
