SIGHTS & SOUNDS: NIU Football Releases New Uniforms

It seemed like just another team meeting in the McCareins Room at the Yordon Center Saturday, August 16. Take a look at behind the scenes footage of the Huskies unveiling of their new uniforms on August 16, pranking the team before revealing them.

2015
• Named FWAA Freshman All-American, the MAC’s only representative on the team.
• Was the first Huskie since safety Alex Kube in 2007 to receive that distinction.

• Started all 14 games for the Huskies, the only NIU freshman in 2015 to do so.
• Started the season at right tackle, but moved to right guard for a few games with Josh Ruka injured.
• Named NIU Co-Offensive Player of the Week after the Huskies put up 59 points and 636 yards of total offense against Ball State (10-10).
• Transitioned back to right tackle starting at Toledo (11-3), helping the Huskies go on a run to their sixth straight MAC West title.
• Selected as NIU Scholar Athlete of the Week for his efforts at Buffalo (11-11) as the Huskies rushed for 334 yards on 67 attempts.
• Consistently opened holes for tailback Joel Bouagnon, who tallied 1,285 yards on the ground with 18 touchdowns during the season.
• Protected three different NIU quarterbacks during the season.
• Earned Academic All-MAC and MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete recognition thanks to his high GPA as a kinesiology major.

2014
• Redshirted.
• Named NIU Offensive Scout TeamPlayer of the Week for his help in preparation leading up to the UNLV (9-13) game.

High School

• Three-time all-conference and two-time all-area honoree.
• Started all but one game over three seasons on the offensive and defensive lines.
• Garnered all-state honors following his senior season.
• Posted 13 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.
• Also earned all-area honors from the WIAA and the Green Bay Press-Gazette, along with first team all-conference recognition.
