NIU defeats Iowa, 30-27

NIU rallied for a 30-27 victory over Iowa Saturday.

Excellent blocker has at least one catch in eight games after making a pair of grabs for 15 yards vs. Ohio. Caught a career-best 16 passes for 145 yards as a senior. Had two catches vs. Eastern Michigan. Fifth on the team in catches. Made two grabs for 27 yards at Miami with a season and career-long 25-yarder. Open for a 13-yard score vs. Ball State. Caught a career-high four passes for 42 yards and ran twice for eight yards vs. UNLV. Scored on a 16-yard reception. Had three grabs for 23 yards vs. Murray State. Tight ends key NIU’s running attack which is averaging 213 yards per game.

• Appeared in all 14 games, earning seven starts at tight end.
• Finished the season with nine receptions for 90 yards, all coming versus MAC opponents.
• Was sixth on NIU in receiving yards.
• Had three-straight multi-catch games: versus Kent State (10-4), Central Michigan (10-11) and Miami (10-18).
• Also made receptions at Ball State (11-5), Ohio (11-18) and Western Michigan (11-28).
