2012: Redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: Three-time Upstate Eight all-conference selection at Neuqua Valley High School. Recorded 65 tackles with 10 tackles for loss, six sacks, eight pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick as a senior. Earned all-state honorable mention, Daily Herald all-area and Naperville Sun all-city team honors following the 2011 season. Named first team all-area by the Daily Herald and to the Naperville Sun's all-city team in 2010. Registered 75 tackles, including 16 for loss, and had 10 sacks as a junior with the Wildcats. Garnered All-Upstate Eight honors after recording 30 tackles, seven tackles for loss and eight sacks in 2009. Tallied 170 tackles, 33 tackles for loss and 24 sacks in three varsity seasons. Ranks in the top five in seven statistical categories in NVHS history, including first in sacks and quarterback hurries. Third-ranked defensive end and 29th-best prospect in Illinois by EdgyTim.com. Ranked as the 34th-best prospect in the Land of Lincoln by ESPN.
