2013: Played in 11 games, starting nine...Fifth on the Huskie defense with 61 tackles...Broke up five passes and tallied two tackles for loss on the season...Made five tackles at Idaho (9-14)...Recorded a career-high 15 stops against Eastern Illinois (9-21)...Made four tackles and broke up a pass at Purdue (9-28)...Notched two pass break ups at Kent St. (10-5)...Registered two tackles including a sack against Eastern Michigan (10-26)...Led the Huskies with 10.5 tackles including 10 solo tackles against Ball State (11-13)...Tallied six stops at Toledo (11-20)...Made eight tackles against Western Michigan (11-26).
2012: Recorded 28 tackles as a back-up linebacker and special teams player. Amassed 13 tackles in a three-game stretch from Sept. 29 to Oct. 13. Tallied a season-high six tackles, including a half tackle for loss, against Central Michigan (9-29). Recorded four tackles, including one for a four-yard loss, against UMass (11-3). Also forced a fumble against the Minutemen. Made four tackles at Ball State (10-6) to earn NIU Co-Defensive Skill Player of the Week honors. Intercepted Cardinals' QB Keith Wenning late in the third quarter to stop a BSU drive in NIU territory and spur a Huskie comeback. Added three tackles, including a tackle for loss, versus Buffalo (10-13). Posted two tackles and forced a fumble at Eastern Michigan (11-23). Made two tackles at Western Michigan (10-27).
2011: Saw action in 11 games and started four at weakside linebacker. Began the season playing primarily on special teams before moving into the rotation at outside linebacker. Finished the season with 28 tackles. Recorded 1.5 tackles for loss and half a sack. Made a season-high five tackles at Bowling Green (11-8) to earn NIU Defensive Skill Player of the Week honors. Tied that mark against Eastern Michigan (11-25) with five stops and a half tackle for loss. Notched his first career sack against Kent State (10-8). Also posted four tackles and forced a fumble that led to a Huskie field goal against KSU after missing the previous three games due to injury. Grabbed his first career interception against Western Michigan (10-15) in his first career start. Had four tackles at Buffalo (10-22). Registered three assisted tackles and half a tackle for loss versus Ball State (11-15). Returned a kickoff 18 yards in the Toledo (11-1) game.
2010: Redshirted as a true freshman.
High School: Named to the IHSFCA 7A All-State team as a senior. Earned special mention All-State recognition from the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times in 2009. Running back and safety was named honorary captain of the Daily Herald Tri-Cities 2009 All-Area Team. Honored by the Kane County Chronicle and Daily Herald as Player of the Year. Unanimous selection to the All-Western Sun Conference first team his senior season. Garnered team MVP and best offensive back honors. Led Geneva to the Class 7A quarterfinals in 2009 while serving as team captain. Gained 802 rushing yards on 166 carries to average 4.8 yards per carry. Scored 23 touchdowns to rank sixth in the state. Made 70 tackles, including 36 solo, as a senior. Recovered two fumbles and intercepted a pair of passes. Returned 24 punts for 249 yards to average 10.4 yards per return. Intercepted five passes over his final two seasons. Geneva went to the playoffs in each of his four seasons. Also a member of the Vikings' basketball team who started every game at point guard as a sophomore.
