NIU rallied for a 30-27 victory over Iowa Saturday.
2015 • First Team All-MAC selection at defensive end. • Led NIU in quarterback sacks (5) and was third in tackles for loss (6.5). • Started all 13 games he played, missing only the Ball State game. • Had a career-high seven tackles versus Bowling Green in the MAC Championship game. • Made four solo tackles with a QB hurry vs. Ohio. NIU co-Defensive Player of the Week with four tackles, three hurries and half a sack vs. Western Michigan. • Registered a sack and three solo stops at Buffalo. • Pressured Toledo QB into a game-ending interception, and added a sack and a forced fumble vs. the Rockets. • Posted six stops with a tackle for loss vs. Murray State. • Totaled five tackles with a sack vs. Eastern Michigan. • Finished his career tied for 10th on NIU’s all-time sack list with 14. • Named to the Preseason Watch List for the Rotary Lombardi Award.
2014 • Started all 14 games at defensive end, one of just four Huskie defenders to begin every game. • Made 57 total tackles on the season, with 33 solo and 24 assists. • Ranked second on the teamwith five sacks and nine tackles for loss. • Selected second team All-MAC by the league coaches and Phil Steele. • Forced a team-high three fumbles. • Disrupted opposing passers all season, tallying five quarterback hits and three pass break ups. • Had five tackles - all solo - a sack and two TFLs at UNLV (9-13). • His key sack and forced fumble in the fourth quarter at Western Michigan (11-28) helped the Huskies win to clinch the MAC West. • Recorded a sack and tied a career high with six tackles at Ohio (11-18). • Had at least one-half tackle for loss in 10 of NIU’s final 12 games. • Named NIU Defensive Lineman of the Week after making four solo tackles in the win over Toledo (11-11).
2013 • Playing in every game as a member of the Huskies' defensive line rotation. • Tied for third on the team in sacks with 4.0 and his eight tackles for loss ranked second on the Huskie team. • Made 21 total tackles. • Recorded a career-high six tackles, including three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks at Idaho (9-14). • Also forced and recovered a fumble against the Vandals. • Credited with four tackles and a season-high two sacks against Eastern Illinois (9-21). 2012 • Recorded six tackles in 13 games as a true freshman. • Posted a season-best two tackles, including one for a loss, versus UT Martin (9-8). • Played on special teams and in limited spots at defensive end.
High School • Rushed for 602 yards and six touchdowns as a senior to earn honorable mention all-conference honors. • Tallied 36 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception return for a touchdown in 2011 as a team captain. • Ranked as the 18th-best recruit in Illinois by ESPN. • Won EdgyTim's Fastest Man Competition among Illinois running backs. • Conference champion and state qualifier in the 100 and 200 meters on the track.
