2006: Started two games and played in nine contests, including bowl game. Recorded 17 tackles, with two for loss and two sacks, during the season. 2005: Limited to four games and one start because of injury. Totaled eight tackles, including two for loss, and one sack. Appeared in 27 plays at Michigan (9-3). Registered two tackles, with one for loss at Northwestern (9-10). Totaled four tackles with sack, forced fumble and quarterback hurry against Tennessee Tech (9-17). Started at nose tackle against Akron (9-24). Had two stops, two hurries and one quarterback pressure vs. Miami (10-5). 2004: Appeared in 12 games with six starts at nose tackle. Totaled 20 tackles, 13 solo and two for loss, with one fumble recovery. Ranked sixth on team with one sack and had six quarterback hurries. Made collegiate debut and had two tackles vs. Maryland (9-4). Credited with four tackles, one for loss, with one hurry vs. Iowa State (9-18). Registered six-yard sack vs. Bowling Green (9-24). Made three stops vs. Akron (10-2). Had two tackles vs. Central Michigan (10-16). Recorded three tackles vs. Western Michigan (10-23). Racked up two tackles, two hurries, one fumble recovery and pass deflection vs. Eastern Michigan (11-20). Credited with two tackles vs. Troy in Silicon Valley Football Classic (12-30). 2003: Redshirted. High School: Recorded 141 career tackles, 13 for loss, in three seasons. Named team Iron Titan Award recipient and first team All-NIC-9 performer as senior. Played regularly as defensive end, defensive tackle and tight end, totaling 40 tackles, seven for loss and two forced fumbles on defense and eight receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown on offense for Class 6A playoff qualifier during final prep campaign. Selected team MVP and honorable mention All-NIC-9 as a sophomore. Three-time NIC-9 Scholar-Athlete selection. Class AA state discus champion and all-state selection as senior. Won consecutive conference discus titles and was a two-time all-conference track selection during final two prep seasons. Qualified for state finals in discus and runner-up in sectional as junior.
