NIU defeats Ball State, 41-38, in a thriller

2011: Saw action in 12 games during the season as a reserve tight end. Caught his first career pass for a seven-yard touchdown against Cal Poly (9-24). Earned his first career start against Kent State (10-8). Also started at tight end the following week against Western Michigan (10-15). One of the tallest players on the NIU team.

Previous School: Redshirted the 2010 season at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

High School: Three-time varsity letterwinner for football and four-time winner for hockey and lacrosse. As a senior, deflected four passes, blocked two kicks, and gathered one interception as a defensive end. Earned All-State honors for hockey his sophomore through senior seasons. Was a four-time All-State selection for lacrosse. Made the All-Star game all four years for lacrosse and his junior and senior years in hockey. Named captain for his lacrosse team his final three seasons and for his hockey team his final two seasons at Millard North High School.

Personal: Born September 18, 1991 in Omaha, Nebraska. Son of Doug and Karen Semisch. Plans to be a business major. Admires Muhammad Ali.
