NIU defeats Eastern Michigan

Huskies defeat Eagles to win MAC West

2011: Saw action in 11 games during his first season at NIU. Carried the ball 16 times for 84 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. Averaged 5.2 yards per rush. Gained a season-high 66 yards on four carries, including runs of 18 and 48 yards, against Western Michigan (10-15). Tallied three carries for 14 yards at Buffalo (10-22) and added an eight-yard reception. Ran the ball a season-high six times against Army (9-3) for two yards.

Junior College: Spent the 2010 fall semester at Fresno City Community College and enrolled at NIU in January 2011. Gained 388 yards on 85 carries with four rushing touchdowns for FCCC. Averaged 4.6 yards per carry and played in all 10 games for the Rams, who tied for first in the Northern California Football Association's VALLEY Conference. Also caught nine passes for 75 yards with one receiving touchdown and returned eight kickoffs for 148 yards. Finished the year with 611 all-purpose yards and nine scores. Had a season-long 53-yard rush for a touchdown versus Merced, when he totaled 65 yards on eight carries. Ran for 62 yards on 13 carries and two scores versus Laney and totaled a season-best 87 yards on 13 totes versus Sequoias. His lone touchdown reception of the season came versus Reedley on a 30-yard play.

High School: Earned All-State honors as a junior and senior at Madison West High School. Named All-City each of his last three seasons and was the Player of the Year in Madison as a senior. Three-time all-conference honoree. In three seasons, ran for 4,860 yards on 681 carries to average 7.1 yards per carry and scored 68 touchdowns. Rushed 214 times for 1,714 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior. Tallied 29 scores and 1,842 yards on 280 carries his junior season. Ran for 1,304 yards and 16 touchdowns on 187 carries as a sophomore. Posted a 315-yard, four-touchdown performance against West Allis Central HS in his second game.

Personal: Born Dec. 13, 1991 in Madison, Wis. Son of Karen and John Settle. His father played running back at Appalachian State and had a six-year NFL career with Atlanta and Washington. After five seasons at Wisconsin, his dad is currently the running backs coach for the Carolina Panthers. Majoring in sociology.
