NIU defeats Iowa, 30-27

NIU rallied for a 30-27 victory over Iowa Saturday.

Top blocking tight end has helped key NIU’s 213 rushing yards/game and 31 TDs rushing. Sets the edge for Huskie tailbacks. Caught his fourth TD pass of the season vs. EMU and gained five yards on his first career carry. Made three catches for 46 yards versus Ball State with grabs of 25 and 19 yards. Named one of NIU’s offensive players of the week vs. Central Michigan. Caught two TD passes vs. Murray State. Scored on a 16-yard catch vs. UNLV. Totaled 27 yards on five grabs vs. Murray State.

• Appeared in all 14 games with two starts at tight end.
• Contributed to an offense that averaged 441.2 yards per game.
• Blocked for two 900-yard rushers: Cameron Stingily and Drew Hare.
• Also made three tackles on the season.
• One of a league-leading 14 Huskies that earned a selection for the Academic All-MAC Team.
