2015 • Selected First Team All-American at cornerback by Phil Steele and the FWAA. • Just the fourth NIU football player to earn First Team All-American. • Added Second Team All-American honors by the Walter Camp FF, Third Team Associated Press and Honorable Mention All-American from Sports Illustrated. • First Team All-MAC selection and Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist. • Played in all 14 games with 10 starts during a break-out sophomore season. • Led the FBS with nine interceptions. • Also topped all FBS defenders with his 273 INT return yards, an average of 30.3. • Was second in the FBS with 24 passes defended with 15 breakups. • Set NIU modern day (FBS-era) record for interceptions in a season. • His INT return yardage total also made him the NIU career leader. • Named MAC West Player of the Week and Jim Thorpe Player of the Week for his performance at Ohio State (9-19), where he intercepted Cardale Jones twice early to set up NIU scoring drives. • Made his first career INT in the season opener versus UNLV (9-5). • Set up a Huskie touchdown at Boston College (9-26) with his career-long 79-yard interception return in the first half. • Also had INTs the next two weeks at Central Michigan (10-3) and again versus Ball State (10-10), setting up NIU TDs with both picks. • Extended his INT streak to five straight games with an interception at Miami (10-17), which was returned 47 yards and led to another NIU TD. • Acrobatically hauled in his next interception at Buffalo (11-11), where he added a career-high eight total tackles as well. • His final INT of 2015 resulted in a 64-yard pick-six in the MAC Championship Game against Bowling Green (12-4). • NIU converted Lurry’s nine 2015 INTs into six TDs and one FG. • Ranked eighth on NIU in all-purpose yards -- just on his INT returns. • Also finished eighth on the team in tackles with 45 stops, 36 solo. 2014 • Appeared in 13 games as a true freshman at cornerback. • Tallied 14 tackles, nine of the solo type. • Returned three punts for 10 yards. • Made a career-high three stops in the victory at UNLV (9-13). • Also had multi-tackle games in the season opener against Presbyterian (8-28) and at Northwestern (9-6). • Broke up his first career pass versus Western Michigan (11-28).
High School • Three-time All-State honoree. • Earned All-State honors from the Tampa Bay Times and Orlando Sentinel following the 2013 season. • Intercepted nine passes as a senior, including two in the 2013 Class 7A state title game. • Returned eight punts for touchdowns in 2013. • Played three seasons at Inlet Grove before transferring to Dwyer as a senior. • Caught 22 passes for 495 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore. • Intercepted four passes during the 2011 season.
