2010: Did not see any game action as a redshirt junior.

2009: Made an appearance in games against Idaho (9-26), Ball State (11-12), and South Florida (1-3).

2008: Appeared in the Toledo game (10-18) as a member of special teams. Recorded one unassisted tackle on a kickoff return.

2007: Redshirted.

High School: A second team all-state running back as a junior who missed most of his senior season due to injury. Also earned first team all-conference and all-area honors in 2005. Picked up second team all-conference recognition his senior season. Named Upstate Eight Conference Offensive MVP in 2005. Member of the Sun-Times' Area Top 100 list. Gained 1,402 rushing yards with 19 touchdowns in 11 games as a junior. Averaged over seven yards per carry. Ranks second on the Neuqua Valley all-time rushing list with 2,007 career yards. Team won three straight league titles during his tenure. Three-year letterwinner in football who also lettered in track and field.

Personal: Born Nov. 17, 1988. Son of Natalie and Alvin Smith. Cousin Shane Battier currently plays in the NBA for the Houston Rockets. Cousin Demetrius Smith played on the University of Miami's 2001 national champion football team. Brother Alvin Jr. played football and captained the track and field team at Olivet Nazarene. Father Alvin Sr. ran track and football at North Central and his mother graduated from NIU. Communication major has maintained a 3.46 grade point average to attain Huskie Scholar status.
