2010: Injured during part of the 2010 season and did not see action in any games as a redshirt junior.
2009: Appeared in games against Eastern Michigan (11-5) and Central Michigan (11-27). Recovered a fumble against Eastern Michigan and the ensuing drive resulted in an NIU field goal. Pre-NIU: Played football and basketball at Palmetto High School. Coached on the gridiron by James Haynes, and lettered in his junior and senior years. Attended Ellsworth Community College, where he earned his associates degree in liberal arts. Personal: Born June 23, 1987. Son of Michelle Johnson and Donald Smith. Admires Deion Sanders and Allen Iverson. Communication major. Came to NIU with twin brother Chris. |
