Earned his first playing time at Illinois (9-18) where he made his first career tackle. Played in consecutive home games against Temple (10-9), Buffalo (10-16) and Central Michigan (10-23) and came up with a second solo stop versus CMU. Injured his Achilles in a non-football accident and missed the remainder of the season. High School: Honorable mention IHSFCA 6A All-State player at running back and linebacker for Romeoville High as a senior. Was a second team All-State selection by the Chicago Tribune. Earned first team all-area and all-conference honors as a running back in 2009 and at linebacker as a junior. Named the Spartans' offensive MVP for 2009 and was the defensive MVP in 2008. Team captain both years. Made 47 tackles in nine games as a senior to average 5.2 tackles per game. Caused one fumble and blocked a field goal. Gained 1,007 yards on 147 carries to average 6.85 yards per tote. Scored 13 rushing touchdowns and had a long run of at least 44 yards in five different games. As a junior, made 58 tackles with three quarterback sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Caused three fumbles. Romeoville went 5-4 his senior season.Also participated in wrestling.
