High School: Started 32 straight games at tight end and defensive end during his high school career. Earned all-area honors at tight end as a senior and was a second team All-Upstate Eight Conference choice his final two seasons. Three-year varsity letterwinner. Totaled 18 catches and scored four touchdowns on offense in 10 games as a senior. Defensively, made 28 tackles, with 26 solo, and blocked a kicked his senior year. Helped lead St. Charles East to the conference title, a 7-3 record and a berth in the state playoffs in 2009. The Saints went 8-2 and advanced to the playoffs his sophomore and junior years.
