Recap |  Final Stats |  Quotes

***Junior Landon Cox caught five passes for 53 yards on the day to establish career highs in both departments. His previous career best was three catches (twice) and 36 yards (at Tennessee, 10-4-08). His 29-yard reception in the second quarter was a career long for the junior and he caught his first TD pass of the year and second of his career.

***NIU's Willie Clark notched his first career touchdown on a seven yard pass from Chandler Harnish in the second quarter.

***Kicker Mike Salerno made a season-high three field goals, tying his single game career best. Salerno's 50-yarder at the end of the first half was also a season-long make for the senior, who had a 52-yard field goal last season versus Bowling Green.

***With seven field goals on the year, Salerno now has 25 for his career to rank tied for seventh on the Huskies' all-time list. His 33 attempts all-time rank him ninth on the NIU career chart. His 120 career kicking points are the seventh-highest total ever at NIU.

***The Huskies finished the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 2-2 record for the first time since 2006. NIU was 1-3 in its non-league games in each of the past two years.

***Jordan Delegal's fourth-quarter punt block was the Huskies' first since the 2008 Bowling Green game, when NIU had a pair of blocked punts. Northern Illinois blocked six kicks, including five punts, a year ago with all the blocks coming from different players.

***Northern Illinois completed its non-conference schedule in the first four weeks of the season for the first time since going to the 12-game schedule. Last year, NIU played Navy in the final game of the regular season.

***Chad Spann was shut out in the touchdown department for the first time this year and Chandler Harnish led the Huskies in rushing for the first time since last year versus Navy (last regular season game).

***Freshman Sean Progar made his first career start, while senior receiver Preston Williams made his second consecutive start. The senior had never started a game prior to last week at Purdue.

***Three Huskies tallied double figures in tackles for the first time this season with Cory Hanson, Alex Kube and Pat Schiller all totaling 11 stops on the day. Hanson's and Schiller's totals marked career highs for the duo.

***Northern Illinois did not turn the ball over for the first time this year.

***Chandler Harnish recorded his season-long 29-yard rush in the first quarter.

***Tommy Davis had a season-long 39-yard kickoff return in the second quarter.

***NIU punter Josh Wilber had a career-long 57-yard kick in the first half.
