***Northern Illinois' 8-0 start is its best start in the modern era (since becoming what is now called Football Bowl Subdivision in 1969). NIU's recorded a perfect 9-0 record during the 1965 regular season before losing its bowl game to finish 9-1.
***NIU won its 24th consecutive games at Huskie Stadium, dating back to Sept. 26, 2009 (a 34-31 loss to Idaho).

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Lynch is the only FBS player in last 10 seasons with three passing TDs, a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in a half.
***With 99 yards on 18 carries Saturday, Jordan Lynch went over the 1,000-yard mark in rushing on the season for the second consecutive year. Lynch, who entered the game ranked fourth nationally in rushing yards with 932 on 138 carries, now has 1,031 yards on 156 carries this season with eight touchdowns on the ground.
***Jordan Lynch passed the 5,000 yard mark in career passing yards to become only the ninth player in NCAA history with 5,000 passing and 3,000 rushing yards. Lynch has 5,028 career passing yards on 410-of-665 passing with 45 touchdown passes.
***The Huskies passing quartet of quarterbacks Jordan Lynch, Matt McIntosh and Drew Hare, and wide receiver Tommylee Lewis, combined for 331 passing yards on 21-of-28 passing (.750) with seven touchdowns for a combined quarterback rating of 256.8, season-highs for the Northern Illinois offense in 2013. Lynch was 16-for-20 (.800) with 223 yards and four touchdowns with 239.7, a career-high rating for the Heisman Trophy contender.
***Jordan Lynch threw a touchdown pass in his 21st consecutive game with a first-quarter toss to receiver Da'Ron Brown
. Lynch also has at least 150 passing yards in each of the last 21 games.
***Da'Ron Brown caught a pair of touchdown catches for his team-leading sixth and seventh TD receptions of the season.
***The Huskie offense was 6-for-7 in the red zone today with 38 points scored. NIU finished with 59 points. NIU's only non-scoring red zone drive was when quarterback Matt McIntosh took a knee to run out the clock and give the Eagles turnover on downs.
***Northern Illinois' offense spread the wealth in the win with four different passers, nine separate rushers and 10 receivers with a catch.

Tommylee Lewis recorded a career-long 54-yard run in the first quarter, then threw a key block to spring Jordan Lynch on the quarterback's 30-yard touchdown run.
Jordan Lynch's 17-yard touchdown reception was the first catch of his NIU career while Tommylee Lewis completed the first pass attempt of his career for the score.
Ricky Connors, Joel Bouagnon and Draco Smith each recorded their first career catches with Bouagnon and Connors' grabs going for touchdowns. Bouagnon scored the first TD pass of the game in the first quarter on a 10-yard pass from Jordan Lynch, while Connors scored NIU's last touchdown on an 11-yard grab from Drew Hare early in the fourth quarter.
Matt Williams caught his first career touchdown pass, a 36-yard grab from Matt McIntosh in the third quarter.

First career 100-yard receiving day for Tommylee Lewis
NIU freshman tailback Joel Bouagnon scored his first career touchdown in his first career game for the Huskies. Bouagnon scored on a 10-yard pass from Jordan Lynch in the first quarter.
Tommylee Lewis went over the 100-yard mark in receiving yards for the first time in 2013 and the first time in his career with 107 yards on eight catches. He added 81 yards on four carries. Lewis is the first player to go over 100 yards receiving for the Huskies this year.
***Angelo Sebastiano returned after missing the Huskies' last four games and had a 41-yard punt return.
***NIU scored a season-high 21 points in the first quarter and allowed a season-low three first-quarter points.
***Lewis' touchdown pass was the first by an NIU player other than a quarterback since Jasmin Hopkins completed a 19 yard pass to Landon Cox at Illinois (Sept. 18, 2010).
***It was the first game this season the NIU defense did not cause a turnover and the first completely turnover-less game that NIU has played in this season.
